ArcSoft Magic-i Visual Effects lets you not only make the most of your video chats by improving the webcam's image quality, but also explore the fun side of your webcam by adding all sorts of effects and special filters.
The program includes a bunch of sliders to tweak, such as brightness, contrast, hue, saturation, sharpness and exposure, among others, with which you can enhance the quality of the image captured by the webcam.
But the most interesting part of ArcSoft Magic-i Visual Effects is probably the special effects.
They include a bit of everything, from thematic animated backgrounds to frames, masks and distortion filters that can make you look fat, thin, blurred or as if you were taking part in an old, sepia-toned scratchy movie.
ArcSoft Magic-i Visual Effects is a bit difficult to get started with. It took me a while to realize it works with other webcam-powered apps, rather than by itself.
This means, of course, that you must have it running in the background while video-chatting.
