If you often use a webcam in your favorite IM client to chat with friends and family, you're going to love this application.
ArcSoft Magic-i Visual Effects lets you not only make the most of your video chats by improving the webcam's image quality, but also explore the fun side of your webcam by adding all sorts of effects and special filters. The program includes a bunch of sliders to tweak, such as brightness, contrast, hue, saturation, sharpness and exposure, among others, with which you can enhance the quality of the image captured by the webcam.But the most interesting part of ArcSoft Magic-i Visual Effects is probably the special effects.
They include a bit of everything, from thematic animated backgrounds to frames, masks and distortion filters that can make you look fat, thin, blurred or as if you were taking part in an old, sepia-toned scratchy movie. ArcSoft Magic-i Visual Effects is a bit difficult to get started with. It took me a while to realize it works with other webcam-powered apps, rather than by itself.This means, of course, that you must have it running in the background while video-chatting.

Tried this out for conversations with my grandchildren. They seemed to enjoy it so I decided to buy it. I feel that it is misrepresented in that it looks like one program but wants to be purchased as if it is 8 programs that are overpriced for what it does. I am very unhappy with it and want my money back.
- Cute for short period of time. The video settings section would be a plus but not at that price. Mine must be older (came with my camera) and does not seem to have the feature to take photos which I would have liked.
- MANY! It is set up as one program which is very misleading. Just isn't enough content to justify the price. Had a very hard time getting it to accept the code after I had purchased it.
